I just reread a classic article about the danger in tying parental love and approval with good behaviour. It was written by Alfie Kohn, a well-known critic of and thinker about education and parenting. A fantastic argument for what kids need and why time outs and withholding of parental affection can lead to unhappy, misbehaving kids. Let me know what you think.
